Command Decoding and Execution

When the computer sends read/write commands to the hard drive, these commands transmit through the SATA interface to the controller chip on the PCB. The controller chip decodes the commands and sends control signals through the PCB traces to the actuator driver and spindle motor.

Data Read/Write Control

The read/write channel on the PCB consists of a preamplifier, read/write circuits, and synchronization clock.
